The WAPO take is accurate, if you liked the first two movies you will like this remake of the first two movies with more action, guns, and a psycho new terminator set on its prey. Don’t take it to seriously and everything will be fine.

WaPo thinks it’s as good as the first two films and ignores the last two, I think this is a good thing. Kinda looking forward to some robot on robot violence with some nostalgic Sarah Conner bad-assness and Arnold one liners.

You could say that about the last two star wars movies but I saw them and enjoyed them. I don’t hate to say that I kinda like Arnold and his one liners, plus modern CGI is so good there is bound to be exploding liquid robots all over the place.

This is exactly why im on the fence on this one. The T1000 was great but they haven’t had any new good ideas for Terminators for a while. plus having just finished T2 I can say that they main reason that movie is awesome isn’t because of the creativity of the Terminators. Its because it was story driven with really good characters and development.

There are plenty of “stuff blows up” movies.  Maybe Im hoping for too much.

Sure you do. She worked out a lot for this movie. I’d like to see how well her muscle tone looks, at the very least. Her role in 2 changed her entire career, so might as well give it a shot.

Can’t wait to check out the trailer. It will be interesting to see how good this sequel is hoping there are no shaky split second cut during fight scenes which seems to be the norm on new action movies.

Bingo. T2 was so good because it was a philosophical exploration on the moral ambiguity of machines vs what they are programmed to do, dressed-up as an action film. Likewise, the original Terminator film was amazing because it was a love story forged in the fires of a sci-fi horror plot.

The best Terminator films are ones with deeper story depths hidden under the surface of action.
